Keep Sport Free on Australian TV

sport

Say no to the pay TV industries quest to have changes made to the legislation that protects our right to access major sporting events free of charge on TV.

Read the paper here

You can also help keep sport on TV free by signing this Online Petition

I think major sporting events should be able to be accesses by all – not just those fortunate enough to have access to pay TV – what do YOU think?

WTF????

Life, health and a general lack of time have kept me off the computer the last few days – I was so excited when I checked my mail – 122 new comments on my blog – wow!!!!

Excitement turned to disappointment when I logged in – 122 SPAM comments :(

What makes no sense to me though is why they bothered

- my site has no page rank and very little traffic as yet and none of the url’s they used in their spam comments seemed to be valid sites (no I did not click them – I looked them up) All were submitted within minutes of each other but from different IP’s so it must have been some kind of bot I think.

I would hate to have to make comments members only as I know I rarely register for blogs just to leave a comment but I am unsure of how to stop these pests – and suggestions?

What do YOU do to stop comment spam?

Well Im back off to bed to nurse a nasty cold and hope my inbox is only full of real comments in the morning :)

Going psycho with sciatica!

Agggggghhhhhh! The pain is unbelievable!
I have suffered with mild back pain for years, but the last few days have been hell :(
I must have slept wrong or something because my lower back, and now my right buttock and thigh are agony, I am only able to cope while standing up so sitting at my computer has been out of the question.

(I have missed my daily writings here and catching up on my favorite blogs)

As usual in a country town I have another week and a half before I can get an appointment.

So I am hoping that someone out there who also suffers from lower back and/or sciatic pain has a copy of the back exercises they give out for this kind of thing. I have some pain meds to get me through, but I need to start the healing process hopefully before my appointment (I hate pain lol)

For some reason this post has become a spam magnet! – comments are now closed.

… and guys, posting the same comment from different emails on different days fools no one.

ALL comments are manually approved or reported as spam

Earthquake terror – can you help?

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Well my blagh day has turned into a blagh week :(
In fact I have been feeling sorry for myself – until I heard about the recent disaster – kind of puts things into perspective doesn’t it?

An 8.3 magnitude quake struck 35km below the ocean floor, causing a tsunami to hit the Pacific islands of Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga killing at least 113 people, including fourĀ Australians

An emergency hotline has been set upĀ  on 1300 555 135 for anyone worried about friends or relatives

This was followed by a 7.6-magnitude quake that has brought down buildings in Indonesia, including hospitals, hotels and homes .The death toll on Sumatra island has so far been put at 200, but authorities expect that to rise dramatically in coming hours.

These people are going to need a lot of support and I recommend that if you wish to help that you get in touch with Care Australia or Red Cross two trusted charities that do such good work.

My thoughts are with these people as they search for those lost and try to find shelter and food – my family have already started a donation drive for clothes and canned goods in our local area

– can YOU help by doing something in YOUR community?
